Beschreibung

A leather belt often stays with its owner for many years. Good belts are made from sturdy, vegetable-tanned leather that softens over time and develops a patina no factory product can imitate. The details matter: a cleanly burnished and polished edge, precise stitching and a buckle that suits the leather. Anyone who makes their own belt gets a piece in exactly their own length and width and learns techniques that carry over to many other leather projects.
Kursinhalt

This workshop is all about making a belt from leather by hand. After an introduction to tools and leather, you practice design, pattern making, cutting and hand stitching on a test piece. Special techniques such as edge skiving, burnishing, splitting, creasing and dyeing are discussed. Every participant makes their own hand-stitched belt.
Hinweise

Material costs are not included in the workshop fee. They are charged according to consumption and settled directly with the instructor on site, and amount to approx. €40. Please plan for this amount in addition to the workshop fee.

Times and location: Each workshop day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at KursWerkstatt München, Haager Straße 9, 4th floor, 81671 Munich.

During the workshop we provide water, coffee and fruit. In the afternoon there is also cake.

Good to know: If you can't make it after all, you can send a substitute participant free of charge at any time. If you cancel up to 31 days before the workshop starts, we charge only 5% of the workshop fee; after that, the full fee is due. Workshop bookings are binding; there is no right of withdrawal.
