Beschreibung

A full-grain leather bag combines craft and everyday use: weekenders and messenger bags accompany you on trips and in daily life and grow more beautiful over the years. Full-grain leather means genuine leather of sturdy thickness is used throughout, and its natural surface turns signs of use into patina. The bags in the workshop need no stitching at all and are assembled with hardware and other joining techniques. The basic constructions presented can be adapted to your own wishes in size, handles and closures.
Kursinhalt

In this workshop you learn to make a full-leather bag (weekender or messenger bag). The construction does without stitching entirely; assembly relies solely on alternative joining techniques. The basic designs presented leave room for your own adaptations.

Contents:

  • Explanation of the cutting templates and transferring them to the leather
  • Cutting the material with a utility knife and leather knife, punching the holes
  • Edge work and burnishing of all parts
  • Making the straps and fastenings
  • Presentation and fitting of the hardware
  • Making a carry handle, if required
  • Assembly, touching up the edges and finishing the bag
Hinweise

Material costs are not included in the workshop fee. They are charged according to consumption and settled directly with the instructor on site, and amount to approx. €150. Please plan for this amount in addition to the workshop fee.

Times and location: Each workshop day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at KursWerkstatt München, Haager Straße 9, 4th floor, 81671 Munich.

During the workshop we provide water, coffee and fruit. In the afternoon there is also cake.

Good to know: If you can't make it after all, you can send a substitute participant free of charge at any time. If you cancel up to 31 days before the workshop starts, we charge only 5% of the workshop fee; after that, the full fee is due. Workshop bookings are binding; there is no right of withdrawal.
