Beschreibung

Getting started with furniture making takes less equipment than you might think. With marking tools, saw, plane and chisel you can build a piece of furniture the way joiners did for centuries, long before power tools. Hand tools are quiet, take up little space and are affordable to buy. The condition is that they are sharp, which is why sharpening is part of the workshop from the start. Anyone who learns to work cleanly with a few tools can add to them later as needed.

Build your first piece of furniture with a basic kit of just 15 tools.

Besides marking tools, saws, a plane and chisels, this minimal tool kit includes a complete sharpening setup for plane irons and chisels. In the workshop you learn to use the tools correctly: from layout to sawing, planing and chopping. Along the way, you also learn how to sharpen and care for your tools properly. You can buy the tools before the workshop or work with the tools we provide.

What you learn is put straight into practice: you build your first piece of furniture, a simple bench made of glued-up oak panel (approx. 1.2 m / 4 ft long). It looks great indoors or can stand outside on a patio, a balcony or as an eye-catcher in front of the house.
Hinweise

Material costs are included in the workshop fee.

Times and location: Each workshop day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at KursWerkstatt München, Haager Straße 9, 4th floor, 81671 Munich.

During the workshop we provide water, coffee and fruit. In the afternoon there is also cake.

Good to know: If you can't make it after all, you can send a substitute participant free of charge at any time. If you cancel up to 31 days before the workshop starts, we charge only 5% of the workshop fee; after that, the full fee is due. Workshop bookings are binding; there is no right of withdrawal.
