Beschreibung

The Tormek is a sharpening machine with a slowly turning, water-cooled grinding stone. It was invented by the Swedish engineer and hobby woodworker Torgny Jansson, who founded the company Tormek in 1973, the name stands for “Torgny's Mekaniska”. He lacked a good way to sharpen his tools, so he developed a modern version of the traditional Swedish water-cooled grindstone. The principle: the low speed and water cooling keep the steel from getting too hot, so it keeps its hardness. With the matching jigs, plane irons, chisels, knives and gouges can be re-sharpened again and again at the same angle.
